Green Benchmark Tool

What is it?

The Green Benchmark Tool is a digital self-assessment resource designed to help youth, youth workers, and organizations reflect on their environmental practices and identify signs of greenwashing. Developed within the EYTCA project and inspired by real-world experiences, it offers a practical, accessible way to evaluate sustainability in everyday actions and decision-making.

The tool supports climate literacy and critical thinking by helping users understand where they stand, what can be improved, and how to adopt more transparent, responsible environmental practices. Whether you’re an individual young person, part of a youth group, or leading an organization, the tool adapts to your context and promotes informed, meaningful action.

How does it work?

The tool presents a short, guided questionnaire divided into five categories:

Story Hub

What is it?

The Story Hub is a curated collection of 30 short educational stories that explore the impact of greenwashing and showcase real examples of sustainable practices from around the world. Created to complement the Green Benchmark Tool, these stories are designed to help young people and educators better understand how misleading environmental messaging works—and how to counter it with knowledge and action.

Each story is grounded in real-world situations from the study visit to Greenland and other global case studies, written in an engaging, accessible way to spark critical thinking, conversation, and awareness in youth settings.

Whether used in workshops, classrooms, or informal learning spaces, the Story Hub is a powerful tool to bring sustainability and climate literacy closer to the everyday reality of young people.
